I submitted a recipe to one of my favorite websites- They Draw & Cook! If you have not heard of it yet, it is a place where artists submit their illustrated recipes, and I do so adore hand-drawn pretend food!
This Bee Salad recipe is not an attempt to be humorous, but based on a true incident that happened yesterday at around 7.15pm. A bee flew into my frying pan and took its last breath underneath some artichoke hearts while I wasn't paying attention. I mixed the bee into my salad and only found out about it when I chewed on its delightful crunchy bits.
It isn't as funny as it sounds. Just so you know, I am terrified of bees and this incident is probably going to scar me for life. Like that incident many years back when I found steamed maggots on my broccoli. My life is simply wonderful.
Thanks so much for submitting a recipe!!!! I LOVE your work and your blog! YIPPEE more fun illustrations to look at!

ReplyDeleteLove this! I had to laugh...sorry. My parents made coffee while camping and didn't notice that there was a slug in the pot until they'd already had the coffee. Gah. At least you're not the only one accidentally eating critters.
ReplyDeleteStephanie: No way! I hate slugs! As in HATE. Oh my god, the nightmares. Now I have to look in my cup everytime I drink it :(
